Forbes: Sberbank tops Russia’s most reliable banks list
MOSCOW, Mar 23 (PRIME) -- National top lender Sberbank has been ranked Russia’s most reliable bank, according to a ratings list published by Forbes on Thursday.
Sberbank has a Ba2 rating from Moody’s and BBB- from Fitch. Its assets stood at 22.337 trillion rubles as of January 1, and capital adequacy rose to 13.7% from 11.9%.
UniCredit was ranked the second most reliable bank, while Rosbank, a unit of French banking group Societe Generale, obtained the third place. Raiffeisenbank, a unit of Raiffeisen Bank International (RBI), is on the fourth place, and Citibank, a unit of the U.S.’ Citigroup, is on the fifth.
The banks are followed by Russian subsidiaries of Intesa and Bank of China, VTB, Gazprombank, Russian Agricultural Bank, and Alfa-Bank.
